Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Finance Director Lisa Minter presented the Monthly Financial Report for month ending <br />May 2013. No action was taken. <br />County Manager John Crumpton presented Ms. Minter and Finance staff with a <br />Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance <br />Officers Association. It was noted this is the 15 consecutive year Lee County has been <br />awarded this certificate. <br />Mr. Crumpton presented his Monthly Manager's Report, a copy of which is attached to <br />these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. As part of the report, the Board <br />discussed recent budget information requested from the Board of Education. Mr. Crumpton <br />stated he had received some of the information but not everything that was requested. No <br />information was provided on the purchase of computers (that he had been able to locate at this <br />time). Once he completes going through all the documents provided, he will share the <br />information with Board members. The recommendation of County Attorney Neil Yarborough <br />was to send another letter to the Board of Education explaining in exact detail what the <br />Commissioners are asking for. The main question /information requested was for the dollar <br />amount to be spent in the upcoming year on computer /technology vs. keeping teacher <br />assistants. After discussion, Commissioner Reives moved for the Chairman to sign off on a <br />letter, along with the County Manager, to the Board of Education asking for detailed <br />information not previously provided.
