0 0 <br />BK00021 PG:0046 <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Hincks called for a ten-minute recess at this time. <br />Upon returning from recess, with all members present, the meeting <br />resumed. <br />The Board considered meeting dates for August and September 2006. <br />Consensus of the Board was to hold one meeting in August at 9:00 a.m. on <br />Monday, August 14, 2006, and one meeting in September at 9:00 a.m., on <br />Monday, September 18, 2006. If joint public hearings with the Planning Board <br />are required, the meetings will be changed to 3:00 p.m. <br />The Board considered a voting delegate for the annual NCACC <br />Conference that will be held in Winston Salem on September 7-10, 2006. <br />Chairman Hincks designated Commissioner Lemmond as the voting delegate for <br />Lee County. <br />The Board considered appointments to various Boards and Commissions. <br />The following individuals were nominated by various Commissioners and <br />approved to serve for the terms shown: <br />BOARD/COMMISSION TERM <br />TERM EXPIRES <br />Environmental Affairs Board <br />Rev. David Jenkins 3-Years <br />June 2009 <br />Lee County Board of Health <br />Dr. Susan Bailey, Optometrist 3-Years <br />June 2009 <br />Senior Services Advisory Board <br />Ms. Janice Coleman 3-Years <br />June 2009 <br />Rest Home-Nursing Home Advisory Board <br />Ms. Carol Williams (filling unexpired 1-year term) <br />June 2007 <br />Commissioner Lemmond discussed the need for an ordinance to regulate <br />towing and recovery services and have the wrecker service be more responsible <br />for cleanup when they tow vehicles after a wreck. Mr. Lemmond shared pictures <br />with the Commissioners of a recent wreck near his home on Spring Lane <br />showing large pieces of debris that the wrecker service did not clean up when the <br />vehicles were towed from the scene. Mr. Lemmond stated he intends to address <br />the matter with City Council at one of their Law and Finance meetings. County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle stated that the Department of Transportation should be <br />contacted to see if they would assist since it is a right-of-way matter. <br />6 <br />
