The purpose of the <br />meeting was to conduct joint public hearings with members of the Lee County <br />Planning Board. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined the first rezoning petition for Dennis <br />and Darlene Naugle to rezone 5.71 acres of land at 6218 Deep River Road from <br />Residential Agricultural to Residential Restricted district. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing. <br />Mr. Dennis Naugle of 129 New Castle Drive, Chapel Hill, North Carolina, <br />spoke in favor of the rezoning request and answered questions from the Board. <br />No one present spoke in opposition to the rezoning request. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />The second petition presented was from the Sanford/Lee County <br />Community Development Department for text amendments to the Unified <br />Development Ordinance (LIDO). Assistant Community Development Director <br />Marshall Downey discussed various recommended text amendments and <br />answered questions from the Board. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing. <br />No one present spoke in favor or in opposition to the recommended text <br />amendments. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Chairman Hincks recessed the Commissioners meeting while members of <br />the Lee County Planning Board deliberated on the petition submitted by Dennis <br />and Darlene Naugle.
