0 BOOK 21 nGE 08 Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. No one present spoke in favor or in opposition to the ten-year Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the Resolution Accepting and Endorsing the Solid Waste Management Plan of 2006-2016 for Lee County, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered the FY 2006-07 Fire District Budget Ordinance. Mr. Donald Andrews, Jr., Chairman of the Lee County Fire Advisory Board presented the FY 2006-07 Fire District Budget Ordinance and asked the Board's approval. Mr. Andrews stated the Advisory Board had reviewed budget requests from the nine volunteer fire departments and had worked with all departments to get a better understanding of their needs. Carolina Trace Fire Department asked for an increase in their part time hours from twenty (20) hours per week to forty (40) hours per week, and the Tramway Department asked for a full-time paid position. After some discussion, Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the FY 2006- 07 Fire District Budget Ordinance, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Ms. Sara Cedano, representing the Minority Inclusiveness Committee, completed the required documents to appear before the Board to discuss the outline for the Human Relations Commission. Ms. Cedano discussed areas of concern and stated that representatives from the City of Sanford, Town of Broadway and Lee County would need to be appointed to the Human Relations Commission by the Commissioners. She stated that the Commission would research and develop by-laws that will later be presented to the Commissioners. After Ms. Cedano's presentation, Commissioner Brown moved for the Commissioners to recognize the work completed to date by the Minority Inclusiveness Committee and for the group to present by-laws at a later date for consideration and approval.
