BOOK 9 rAC[ n -n2 <br />quested by the Board of Education at its June 18, 1979 meeting and relates to the <br />1978-79 budget. The request was approved, upon motion of Commissioner <br />Funderburke, seconded by Commissioner Nielsen, which motion was unanimously <br />adopted, upon a roll call vote wherein Commissioners Funderburke, Nielsen, <br />Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The Budget Ordinance for the fiscal year 1979-80 was presented <br />and read at length. A copy of the Budget Ordinance is attached hereto and by <br />this reference made a part of these minutes. Commissioner Nielsen moved the <br />adoption of the 1979-80 Budget Ordinance as prepared by the County Finance <br />Officer and read to the Board at this meeting. Commissioner Funderburke <br />seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Funderburke, Nielsen, <br />Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no one voted against it. Commissioner <br />Funderburke moved that the following changes be made in the 1979-80 budget: <br />To transfer $27, 500. 00 from the unappropriated surplus <br />in the General Fund to the Recreation Fund and to amend <br />the Recreation Budget to reflect the following: <br />Revenue <br />Fund Balance $ 16, 500.00 <br />General Fund Appropriation $ 27, 500.00 <br />N. C. Bureau of Outdoor Recreation $ 44, 000.00 <br />Expenditures <br />Horton Park Pool Renovation <br />$ 88, 000.00 <br />Commissioner Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a roll call <br />vote, Commissioners Funderburke, Nielsen, Wicker and Harmon voted for the <br />amendment and Commissioner Rhyne voted against it. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Rhyne, it was unanimously resolved to authorize County Departments and Agencies <br />who have safes to be relieved of the obligation of making daily deposits unless <br />they have funds in the amount of $100. 00 or more. <br />Commissioner Funderburke left the meeting and did not participate <br />in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />The Board proceeded to open the bids received for maintenance <br />of the County's business machines. The bids received were as follows: <br />Independent Cash Register $ 3,455.25 <br />Mac's Business Machines $ 3, 836. 36 <br />Sanford Business Machines, Inc. $ 3, 464. 70, with a 2°Jo <br />for payment within <br />10 days <br />Commissioner Wicker moved that the low bid of Sanford Business <br />Machines, Inc., be accepted. Commissioner Rhyne seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman brought to the Board's attention that an appointment <br />of a Tax Supervisor needed to be made. Commissioner Rhyne moved that Mr. <br />James L. Clark be appointed Tax Supervisor for the statutory term of two years. <br />Commissioner Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously <br />adopted. Mr. Clark thereafter took the oath of office and filed it with the Clerk and <br />a copy is attached to these minutes and made a part hereof. <br />
