NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the'.County of Lee, that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. Commissioner Rhyne seconded the motion and'dpon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Wicker asked that the report from the Department of Transportation be made to Mr. James C. Clifton, concerning this road. It was called to the Board's attention that the Department of Transportation had issued a press release announcing the allocation of funds for Secondary Road improvements for the next fiscal year. Lee County's allocation is $43, 074. 00 from bond funds and $72,'720. 00 of funds allocated by the General Assembly, for a total of $115, 794. 00. Mr. J. Douglas Moretz, was appointed a member of the Sanford- Lee County Airport Commission for the regular term, upon motion of Comm- issioner Rhyne, seconded by Commissioner Wicker, which motion was unanimous- ly adopted, upon a vote. There was a discussion concerning the location of a trash recepta- cle near the Courtland Acres Subdivision area, but no formal action was taken. Mr. Howard F. McGinn, Jr., was appointed to the Lee County Personnel Board, upon motion of Commissioner Nielsen, seconded by Comm- issioner Funderburke, which motion was unanimously adopted, upon a vote. The Board confirmed its appointment of Mr. L. F. Meador to the Jury Commission and discussed appointments to the City of Sanford Board of Adjustment. No action was taken upon this, however, Mr. Jack D. Funderburke was appointed to the Central Business District Authority, upon motion of Comm- issioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Rhyne, which motion was unani- mously adopted, upon a vote. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of a resolution authorizing the renovation of the swimming pool and bathhouse at Horton Park. The resolution was read at length and a copy of the resolution is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Comm- issioner Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Assurance of Compliance with the Title VI, Civil Rights Act of 1964, required from Lee County to receive financial assistance from the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service, was read to the Board. The Chairman was authorized to sign the resolution for and on behalf of the County, upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted. A copy of the certificate is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Mrs. Beatrice Fields, County Finance Officer, appeared before the Board and requested that the Board amend the Social Services Budget to reflect revenue as follows: Indirect Cost $13,796.00 and to amend expenditures as follows: Salaries and Wages $13,464.00 FICA 166.00 Retirement 166.00 These amendments were to pay the two salaries of Chore workers*
