NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the <br />Board of County Commissioners of the'.County of Lee, <br />that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to <br />review the above described road, and to take over the <br />road for maintenance if it meets established standards <br />and criteria. <br />Commissioner Rhyne seconded the motion and'dpon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. Commissioner Wicker asked that the report from the <br />Department of Transportation be made to Mr. James C. Clifton, concerning <br />this road. <br />It was called to the Board's attention that the Department of <br />Transportation had issued a press release announcing the allocation of funds <br />for Secondary Road improvements for the next fiscal year. Lee County's <br />allocation is $43, 074. 00 from bond funds and $72,'720. 00 of funds allocated <br />by the General Assembly, for a total of $115, 794. 00. <br />Mr. J. Douglas Moretz, was appointed a member of the Sanford- <br />Lee County Airport Commission for the regular term, upon motion of Comm- <br />issioner Rhyne, seconded by Commissioner Wicker, which motion was unanimous- <br />ly adopted, upon a vote. <br />There was a discussion concerning the location of a trash recepta- <br />cle near the Courtland Acres Subdivision area, but no formal action was taken. <br />Mr. Howard F. McGinn, Jr., was appointed to the Lee County <br />Personnel Board, upon motion of Commissioner Nielsen, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Funderburke, which motion was unanimously adopted, upon a vote. <br />The Board confirmed its appointment of Mr. L. F. Meador to the <br />Jury Commission and discussed appointments to the City of Sanford Board of <br />Adjustment. No action was taken upon this, however, Mr. Jack D. Funderburke <br />was appointed to the Central Business District Authority, upon motion of Comm- <br />issioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Rhyne, which motion was unani- <br />mously adopted, upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of a <br />resolution authorizing the renovation of the swimming pool and bathhouse at <br />Horton Park. The resolution was read at length and a copy of the resolution <br />is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Comm- <br />issioner Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The Assurance of Compliance with the Title VI, Civil Rights Act <br />of 1964, required from Lee County to receive financial assistance from the <br />Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service, was read to the Board. The <br />Chairman was authorized to sign the resolution for and on behalf of the County, <br />upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Nielsen, <br />which motion was unanimously adopted. A copy of the certificate is attached <br />to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. <br />Mrs. Beatrice Fields, County Finance Officer, appeared before <br />the Board and requested that the Board amend the Social Services Budget to <br />reflect revenue as follows: <br />Indirect Cost $13,796.00 <br />and to amend expenditures as follows: <br />Salaries and Wages $13,464.00 <br />FICA 166.00 <br />Retirement 166.00 <br />These amendments were to pay the two salaries of Chore workers* <br />
