~C~;r~ PA~rEx'•~ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, July 16, 1979 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, July 16, 1979, at 7:00 o'clock p, m. Those present were Commiss- ioners Jack D. Funderburke, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne, Gordon A. Wicker and K. S. Harmon, The Chairman declared that a quorum was present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was transacted: Mr. K. R. Hoyle, the County Attorney, opened the meeting with a prayer. The minutes of the meetings held on June 28th, 1979 and on July 2, 1979, were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Rhyne, seconded by Commissioner Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. Chairman Harmon reported on his attempt to meet with Mr. Joe Godfrey concerning land for the Sanford-Lee County Airport; however, Mr. Godfrey's attorney was out of town. The petition asking that the road off of Secondary Road 1318 (Glendon Road) in the Pocket community, be added to the State System, was presented to the Board. Commissioner Wicker moved that the following resolution be adopted: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road system; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of High- ways of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for the addition of roads to the System.
