f <br />BOOK 9 P w515 <br />Crissman, Lee County Tax Collector, as examined by representatives of <br />John C. Muse Company, be approved. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman brought up for consideration, the per diem allow- <br />ances and the reimbursement for travel expense. The matter was discussed but <br />no formal motions were made and no actions taken. <br />The need for improvements of the parking area at the Department <br />of Social Services, was discussed. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that <br />the Maintenance Department be authorized to place cross-ties and gravel area to <br />improve the parking area at the Department of Social Services. Commissioner <br />Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Rhyne reported to the Board that he had received <br />complaints concerning inquiries by re-valuation personnel inquiring of tenants as <br />to the amount of rent paid by them. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, seconded by <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, it was unanimously resolved to designate <br />the Chairman as the voting delegate from the Board to the Annual Meeting of the <br />Association of County Commissioners. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, seconded by <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, it was resolved to expend the sum of $100. 00 <br />in promoting the tobacco warehouse industry in Lee County. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that a study be made <br />and consideration be given to the revising of the County Personnel Resolution. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />It was reported that a meeting of the Housing Committee would <br />be held on August 7, 1979, and also that the Jail Committee was scheduled to <br />meet with Mr. Wilson from the Jail Inspection Department. <br />The bridge over the road leading to San-Lee Park was brought <br />up for discussion and Commissioner Rhyne reported that he had inquired of the <br />Department of Transportation twice concerning this matter and that the Highway <br />Division did not consider the bridge and its condition to be a hazard. <br />It was reported that Congressman Charles Whitley would be in <br />Lee County on August 8, 1979, and that there would be a meeting in Raleigh on <br />September 24, 1979, on the Coordination of Human Services. <br />The Board next considered the old Library Building at 114 N. <br />Steele Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />OF THE COUNTY OF LEE desires to dispose of <br />certain surplus property of the County; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, <br />THA T: <br />
