6cog 9 racf 546 <br />4D <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Wednesday, September 5, 1979 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />Lee County, North Carolina, convened in the Superior Courtroom, Lee County <br />Courthouse, Sanford, North Carolina, at 7:30 o'clock a. m., on Thursday, <br />September 5, 1979, the same being the time, date and place specified in the <br />motion of adjournment. Those present were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, <br />Lila P. Nielsen, and Clyde J. Rhyne. Commissioners K. S. Harmon and Gordon <br />A. Wicker were absent. The Vice-Chairman declared a quorum present and the <br />meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Vice-Chairman Clyde J. Rhyne presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The Clerk reported to the Board of Commissioners that the bond order <br />which had been introduced on August 23, 1979, had been published on August 27, <br />1979, in the manner required by law, with notice that the Board of Commissioners <br />would hold a public hearing thereon on September 5, 1979, at 7:30 o'clock P. M. <br />The Clerk also reported that the County's Finance Officer had filed in the Clerk's <br />office a statement of debt complying with the provisions of The Local Government <br />Bond Act, and such statement as filed showed the net indebtedness of the County <br />to be .02275%-of the appraised valuation of property in the County, subject to <br />taxation. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the Board proceed to hold <br />a public hearing on the school bond order. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke and was unanimously adopted. <br />
