aocK 9 wr 582 <br />With respect to Line Item 19-660-37, entitled "Sewer Approp- <br />ropriation in General Fund", that it be amended to reflect <br />revenue from the Emergency and Contingency Fund in the <br />amount of $839. 00, and expenditures in the same amount. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a <br />roll call vote, Commissioners Funderburke, Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted <br />for it and no one voted against it. <br />The Chairman read a letter from the City of Raleigh, with respect to <br />the CETA Consortium in which it thanked Lee County and its Commissioners for their <br />participation and commended Mr. Jon Moore for his good work. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the Board go into Executive <br />Session to consider land values and personnel matters. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Following the close of <br />the Executive Session, the Board reconvened in open session, with Chairman Harmon <br />presiding. At that time, the Chairman recognized the County Attorney, who reported <br />on the auction of the old Library building and advised the Board that Mr. John Renner <br />of 14 Carolina Trace, was the high bidder at $30, 100. 00. The Board took this matter <br />under discussion following which Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that a decision <br />on this matter be deferred until the next meeting of the Board. Commissioner Funder- <br />burke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman next recognized Commissioner Rhyne, who moved that <br />the Board submit the names of Mark Wayne Luellen, Gene E. Bethea and Miranda <br />Bryant Spencer., to the Forestry Service, for consideration to the appointment to the <br />Ranger's job in Lee County. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The written request of Mr. James W. Wicker, for a refund in the <br />amount of $5. 10, in personal property taxes upon a boat which was also listed in New <br />Hanover County, was presented to the Board, along with the recommendation of Mr. <br />James L. Clark, the Tax Supervisor, that the refund be approved. Commissioner <br />Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the Tax Collector be authorized and directed to refund <br />$5. 10 to Mr. Wicker, in accordance with his written request. Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />A copy of the Wake County report on tax revenues and its distribution <br />which had appeared as an insert in the News & Observer, was distributed to the Board and <br />considered. <br />The report from Mrs. Bea Fields, the Finance Officer, showing that <br />the following employees had completed their probationary period and had been placed <br />on permanent status by their supervisors, was presented to the Board: <br />Kathy W.
