60Gr 9 PACE `"S9 <br />Mr. Buchanan presented a resolution pertaining to improvements <br />and repairs to the San-Lee Park dam. The Clerk read the resolution in its entirety. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the resolution entitled "Resolution of Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners authorizing improvements and repairs to the San-Lee <br />Park Dam", a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by such reference made <br />a part hereof, be adopted. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Darrel Mullins, Architect, reported on the project concerning <br />the improvements at the Lee County jail. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker had Mr. Elwin Buchanan review <br />and explain the relocation policy followed by the County. <br />Mr. Phil Richardson, Chief of Police of the Town of Broadway, <br />appeared before the Board concerning establishing radio communication between <br />Broadway Police Department and the Sheriff's Department. Commissioner Gordon <br />A. Wicker moved that Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke be authorized and empowered <br />to act for and on behalf of the County in approving or disapproving of any plan for the <br />establishment of radio communication by and between the Lee County Sheriff's Depart- <br />ment and the Broadway Police Department. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before the <br />Board and reported on the installation of the water line from Northview to Colon. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that Grants Administrator Buchanan be <br />authorized and empowered to work on securing grants to finance the connection of <br />homes in the Colon-Osgood area to the Northview to Colon water line. Commissioner <br />Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The request of the Sanitation Department for an amendment to their <br />budget was presented to the Board. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the <br />budget appropriation for the Sanitation Department be amended by transferring $3,400. 00 <br />from line item 580-16 entitled "Maintenance of Equipment" to line item 580-74, <br />entitled "Equipment". Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon <br />a roll call vote, it was unanimously adopted as follows: <br />AYE: Funderburke, Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon <br />NAY: None <br />The request of the Lee County Board of Education that the County <br />appropriation for Current Expense be amended was presented to the Board. After <br />discussion and review, Commissioner Gordon A.
