Bet? 9 nt; 59 <br />The County Attorney reported to the Board that the sale of the old <br />Library building on Steele Street, Sanford, North Carolina, had been closed and the <br />purchase price delivered to the Finance Office. <br />The Board took up for discussion, the letter received from Mr. O. B. <br />Stokes, City Manager, concerning parties apparently trespassing upon County Park <br />property. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker was asked to bring the letter to the attention <br />of the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Board, upon motion made, seconded, <br />and unanimously adopted, delegated to the Parks and Recreation Commission, the power <br />and authority to set the hours when County property under the control and direction of <br />the Parks and Recreation Commission, shall be open to the use of the general public <br />and when same shall be closed and the right to so post said lands. <br />Commissioner Rhyne brought up for consideration, the matter of the <br />County's liability insurance coverage and the Board requested that a representative of <br />Childress-Roberts, Inc., be invited to attend the next meeting to discuss with the Board <br />its letter of November 1, 1979, concerning such coverage. <br />There was a discussion concerning use of County Maintenance personnel <br />for plumbing and electrical work by other County agencies. <br />The Board noted that it continued to receive complaints concerning <br />parking near the Parks and Recreation Commission's Cultural Arts Building, and the <br />County Attorney was requested to discuss the matter with the City Manager to see <br />what City authorities could do to regulate the parking in the vicinity of this building. <br />The Board authorized Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker to arrange <br />suitable quarters for SBI Agent in the Courthouse building. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker requested that the Hospital Board <br />be directed to file quarterly reports of its activities as previously ordered by this <br />Board. <br />The Finance Officer reported that the $22. 00 per hour charge in the <br />contract with John C. Muse & Company, was in the middle range of professional <br />charges for this type of work according to the personnel at the Local Government <br />Commission. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Chairman be authorized <br />to sign the contract between the County and John C. Muse & Company, for auditing <br />services for the coming fiscal year. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjourned, sine die. <br />MAN <br />
