Comm-
issioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the name of the Sanford-Lee County Depart-
ment of Civil Preparedness be changed to the Sanford-Lee County Department of
Emergency Management. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and
upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
The budget for the fiscal year 1980 CETA Planning Program, was
presented to the Board. After discussion and review, Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne
moved that the budget allocation for the fiscal year 1980 CETA Program, a copy of
which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a part hereof, be
approved and adopted as the CETA Budget for the coming program year. Commiss-
ioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners
Funderburke, Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no one voted
against it.
The County Attorney reported to the Board that in accordance with
the resolution adopted by the Board on September 17, 1979, authorizing the sale of
certain property acquired by the County from tax foreclosures that he had conducted
a public auction on November 2, 1979, at 11:00 o'clock a. m, at the Lee County
Courthouse, when and where Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Stack became the last and highest
bidder for the 0. 90 acre tract in Cedar Hills Subdivision acquired by the County by
deed from F. Jefferson Ward, Commissioner, recorded in Book 235, page 170, Lee
County Registry. After discussion, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the
adoption of the following:
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the
County of Lee, adopted on September 17, 1979, a Resol-
ution authorizing the sale of the 0. 90 acre tract of land
in Cedar Hills Subdivision, owned by the County of Lee; and
WHEREAS, the sale was duly and lawfully ordered
and held and Mr. and Mrs. C.
