U <br />B <br />?pct <br />for use by residents to dispose of household solid waste at <br />no charge subject to the rules hereinafter set forth. These <br />containers shall be emptied at least once each week and their <br />contents taken to the County Landfill. <br />Section 8 - USE OF COUNTY SOLID WASTE CONTAINERS <br />Persons using the County Solid Waste Containers must comply with the <br />following rules for depositing household solid waste in these containers. <br />A. Household solid wastes should be gagged before it is placed in <br />containers. <br />B. Burning or flammable material must not be placed in containers. <br />C. Heavy objects are not allowed in containers. <br />D. No building material, bricks, lumber, tree trimmings, stumps, logs, <br />animal carcasses, animal wastes, appliances, furniture, auto parts, <br />industrial wastes, agricultural wastes and the like shall be placed <br />in containers. This type material, if acceptable, shall be taken <br />to the County Landfill or otherwise disposed of in a manner approved <br />by the Lee County Health Department. <br />E. Solid Waste shall not be dumped on top of the container or on the <br />ground around the container. <br />F. The Lee County Commissioners hereby offer a $200.00 reward for <br />the arrest and conviction of anyone found guilty of burning garbage <br />containers in Lee County. <br />G. There shall be no salvaging of any materials from any solid waste <br />containers. <br />Violation of any of the above provisions 'shall constitute a violation <br />of this ordinance. <br />Section 9 - PENALTY <br />A. Pursuant to Articles 6 and 15, Chapter 153A of the General Statutes <br />of North Carolina and this Lee County Ordinance each violation of <br />any part of this ordinance will constitute a separate offense and <br />any person in violation of the ordinance shall be punished by a <br />fine not exceeding fifty dollars ($50.00) or imprisonment not <br />exceeding thirty (30) days, or both, for each offense, and each <br />day's continuing violation shall be a separate and distinct offense. <br />B. In addition to the provisions of the foregoing subsection this <br />ordinance may be enforced by an appropriate equitable remedy as <br />authorized by any of the provisions of G. S. 153A-123. <br />
