The Committee asked that the Airport Authority be contacted and <br />asked to submit their budget by Monday, May 8, 2006. <br />The Committee discussed using a "sticker system" for Lee County individuals <br />using the County Convenience Centers. Commissioner Brown moved for the County to <br />put into practice the "sticker system" for solid waste disposal as soon as can be <br />implemented. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />Chairman Reives moved the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Committee discussed the County Manager's recommendation to purchase <br />new vehicles for the IT Department, General Services, Sheriff's Department, Fire <br />Marshal, and Social Service. Commissioner Reives stated that he recommended only <br />purchasing new vehicles for the Sheriff's Department. After some discussion, it was <br />agreed to leave the purchase of three new vehicles in the budget for Social Services <br />due to reimbursement received from the State for these purchases. Commissioner <br />Reives asked to have maintenance records furnished for all vehicles that are being <br />considered for replacement, along with the Replacement Vehicle Policy. Assistant <br />County Manager Kenny Cole was asked to attend the May 8m budget work session to <br />discuss the Replacement Vehicle Policy. <br />The Committee asked for further details and a report on the $18,500 repeater for <br />a 2-way radio system requested in the budget. <br />The Committee asked that a letter be drafted to the City of Sanford for a budget <br />for E911 Communications. <br />Environmental Health salaries were discussed. The Committee asked that a <br />statewide study of Environmental Health salaries be furnished for the May 8th budget <br />work session. <br />The Committee discussed funding for non-profit organizations. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to appropriate $10,000 for HAVEN of Lee <br />County.
