<br />to the City of Sanford, and being the property conveyed by
<br />Sammy B Brown et ux to Lee County, by deed dated March
<br />8, 1978, -and recorded in Book 288, at page 234, Lee County`..
<br />Registry;,'to which deed -reference is hereby made for a-more
<br />perfect description.
<br />2. The Clerk is authorized to receive on the Board
<br />of Commissioners behalf, bids at public auction for the purchase
<br />of the described property.
<br />3. The public auction will be held on Monday, March 31st,
<br />1980, at 11:00 a. m, , at the Lee County Courthouse. The terms'
<br />of sale shall be cash.
<br />4. The Clerk shall cause a. notice, of the public auction to
<br />be published in accordance with G. S. 160A-270(a).*
<br />5. The person making''the highest bid shall'deposit with
<br />the Finance Officer an amount equal to 51f6 of'the bid.
<br />6. The highest bid shall be reported to the Board of
<br />,Commissioners and must be accepted and confirmed'by the
<br />Board of Commissioners before the sale will be final.
<br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote
<br />it was unanimously adopted,
<br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker had the Clerk read a letter from
<br />Mr. Derrell W,. Mullins, with respect to the recommended repairs to the old Armory
<br />building roof.. After discussion, Commissioner Wicker moved that the bid of King .
<br />Roofing-& Manufacturing Company to do this work at•.the,price of $20, 000. 00, be
<br />accepted and,thatMr. Derrell W. Mullins be paid $240. 00 for his services. Comm-
<br />issioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded themotionand'upon a vote it ;was. unanimously
<br />adopted. ;
<br />Mr. Ed Fl' is of Williams & Works, appeared before the. Board' and
<br />reported that he had reviewed the bids received earlier and that they were in order and
<br />he recommended the selection of the low bid of Riddick Plumbing Company for Section
<br />A-Wastewater-plus alternate-bid-Section B (which is, an 8 inch waterline), at a total
<br />bid'of $•14,625 00. Commissioner Clyde J.' Rhyne moved that the low bid of Riddick
<br />Plumbing Company in the amount of $14, 625. 00, for Section A-Wastewater and alternate.
<br />bid-Section B, be accepted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker'second,ed the motion and
<br />upon a vote it-was unanimously adopted.
<br />The Board`mext took up the contract with Williams,& Works for the 1
<br />water and. sewer improvements" at the P. K.. Buchanan Industrial site and the Chair-
<br />- man was authorized,to..ekecute the contract for and on behalf. of the County; upon
<br />motion of Commissioner Nielsen, seconded by Commissioner Rhyne, which motion
<br />f was`Funanimou_sly;iadopted.
