PPPP_ <br />g Pr,cE 651 <br />w, <br />Mr. Bobby Johnson appeared before the Board and presented speci- <br />fications for a new refuse truck. After discussion, Commissioner Jack D. Funder- <br />burke moved that the Board advertise for bids on the refuse truck. Commissioner <br />Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Clerk then read the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Tramway Rural Fire Department <br />will dedicate and open its new station on Saturday, March <br />1, 1980; and <br />WHEREAS, the success of the Trarnway Rural Fire <br />Department is due in great part to the dedicated service and <br />wise leadership of its chief, PRESSLY M. FOUSHEE; and <br />WHEREAS, PRESSLY M. FOUSHEE has served contin- <br />uously as the Chief of the'Tramway Rural Fire Department, since <br />October 1, 1956, having been elected to that position annually; and <br />WHEREAS, PRESSLY M. FOUSHEE has spent untold hours <br />in training, teaching, planning, firefighting and administrative <br />duties to provide his community with efficient fire protection; and <br />WHEREAS, by his voluntary community service, PRESSLY <br />M. FOUSHEE has exemplified the best in responsible citizenship; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE <br />COUNTY desire to recognize and regard such efforts and to <br />encourage others to emulate such an example; <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD <br />OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. It commends PRESSLY M. FOUSHEE for his <br />years of service to the Tramway Rural Fire Department and for <br />his leadership in making it a vital force in the community life of <br />the Tramway area. <br />Section 2. It commends PRESSLY M. FOUSHEE for his <br />example of good citizenship and directs that this resolution be <br />made a permanent part of the minutes of the February 26, 1980, <br />meeting. <br />Section 3. That a copy of this resolution shall be certified <br />by the Clerk for presentation to MR. PRESSLY M.
