0 <br />WOK 9 PAU 665 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Tuesday, April 8th, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of <br />the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 9:30 <br />o'clock a.m., on Tuesday, the 8th day of April, 1980. Monday, April 7th, 1980, was <br />Easter Monday and was observed as a public holiday. Those present were Commiss- <br />ioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne, and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for <br />the transaction of business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The meeting was opened by prayer given by K. R. Hoyle, the County <br />Attorney. <br />The minutes of the March 17, 1980, regular meeting were approved <br />and ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, seconded by <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />A petition requesting a short dirt road off of Secondary Road No. 1151, <br />near Cameron Village be added to the State system, was presented to the Board. Comm- <br />issioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with <br />the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, <br />requesting that the above described road, the location of <br />which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be <br />added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is <br />of the opinion that the above described road should be added <br />to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum stan- <br />dards and criteria established by the State Highway Commission <br />for the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the State <br />Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the <br />above described road, and to take over the road for mainte- <br />nance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />A report was given on a road in Deep River Township near Lee's <br />Chapel Church. No formal action was taken. <br />
