BOOK ~ ?.',rf <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 19, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, North Carolina, convened on Monday, May 19, 1980, in the Commissioners' <br />room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, <br />North Carolina. Those present were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. <br />Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne, and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, May 5, 1980, <br />were approved and ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner Lila P. Neilsen, <br />seconded by Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, which motion was unanimously adopted <br />upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker presented a petition and map of <br />the Lemon Heights subdivision. After discussion, Commissioner Wicker moved the <br />adoption of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed <br />with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the <br />location of which has been indicated in red on the attached <br />map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is <br />of the opinion that the above described road should be added <br />to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum <br />standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways <br />of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for <br />the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the Division <br />of Highways is hereby requested to review the above described <br />road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets es- <br />tablished standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote, <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne reported that the Division Engineer <br />had replied to the petition presented by Mr. James A. McIntyre requesting the <br />addition of road adjacent to Cameron Village (SR 1151), and advised him that the road <br />did not meet the minimum requirements for addition. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that a letter be sent to the <br />highway authorities requesting that more equipment be placed in Lee County for <br />mowing and maintenance work. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />
