David Guice, Chief Deputy Secretary <br />George Solomon, Director <br />April 17, 2013 <br />Re: Renewal contract for inmate labor between Lee County Health Department <br />and North Carolina Department of Public Safety. <br />Attached for your review and approval is the proposed labor contract between <br />Sanford Correctional between Sanford Correctional Center and Lee County <br />Health Department. The inmate Labor Contract was revised in (2010) and <br />now includes information concerning the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 <br />(PREA). This revision is noted on Page 7, Part VII (Logistics), of the labor <br />contract. There is no change in the contract amount. Our current contract will <br />expire June 30, 2013 and it is our recommendation that the contract be <br />renewed for the period of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
