BOOK 22 Pact 997 <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT <br />FOR DISPATCH SERVICES <br />COUNTY OF LEE <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this,- L-day of 2009, <br />by and between the City of Sanford, a North Carolina municipal corporati (hereinafter <br />referred to as "City") and the County of Lee, a body both corporate and politic and one of <br />the one hundred counties of the State of North Carolina (hereinafter referred to as <br />"County"); <br />WITNESSFTH: <br />WHEREAS, the City has the ability to provide dispatch services to the County <br />through the communications center at the Sanford Police Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the County has a need to contract with someone to provide dispatch <br />for emergency calls for service for the sheriff, emergency medical service and rural fire; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the County has heretofore orally contracted with the City for these <br />dispatch services and wishes to continue the arrangement to avoid unnecessary <br />duplication of effort and additional expenditure of public funds, but now desires to set <br />forth that agreement in writing. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the promises and <br />agreements herein contained, and subject to the terms and conditions hereinafter set forth, <br />it is hereby understood and agreed by the parties hereto as follows: <br />1. Service. The City shall provide dispatch services for rural fire emergency <br />response, emergency medical response and will "drop down" calls for service <br />for the Lee County Sheriff to the sheriff's office who shall dispatch it's own <br />personnel. <br />2. Fee. The County shall pay a portion of the cost of maintenance, operation, <br />repair and overhead of the communications center based on the percentage of <br />calls for service in the preceding calendar year. "Drop down" calls will not be <br />counted in calculating the percentage of calls for service- One-fourth of the <br />tee shall be paid to the City at the beginning of each quarter in the fiscal year, <br />unless notified by the City of the need of an alternate payment schedule. <br />3. Equipment. Equipment, not eligible for purchase with State 911 funds, which <br />is purchased for the communication center shall remain the property of the <br />City of Sanford. County shall pay the annual depreciation amount (straight- <br />line method) multiplied by the County's percentage of calls for service in the <br />
