BOOK 22 PkGF S25 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JULY 20, 2009 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North <br />Carolina, convened at 6:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 <br />Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy M. Dalrymple, <br />Richard B. Hayes, James C. Kelly, Larry "Doc" Oldham, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, and <br />Linda A. Shook. <br />Chairman Hayes presided and called the meeting to order. The following business was <br />transacted: <br />Commissioner Doc Oldham delivered the invocation. <br />The pledge of allegiance was recited. <br />The Board considered a North Carolina 4-H Centennial Proclamation. Bill Stone, Lee County 4- <br />H Youth Development Extension Agent introduced Ms. Elissa Neal, rising 6`h grader from the Rockin'- <br />Riders Horse Club, who read the proclamation designating 2009 as the Centennial Anniversary of 4-H <br />in North Carolina and recognizing the North Carolina 4-H Youth Development program for its 100 years <br />of helping youth develop a passion for lifelong learning, valuable leadership skills, self-confidence and <br />service to the people of this State and Lee County. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the <br />North Carolina 4-H Centennial Proclamation as presented, a copy of which is attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Hayes, Kelly, Oldham, Paschal, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />At this time the Board conducted joint public hearings with the Lee County Planning Board. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined the first rezoning petition submitted by Mr. Jerry Adkins to rezone <br />approximately .49 ± acres of land at 2912 Jefferson Davis Highway from Residential Agricultural (RA) <br />district to Highway Commercial (HC) district. <br />Chairman Hayes opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date and time. <br />
