BOOK A PIGE $84 <br />RIP <br />EE C.OUNTY.«. <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION BY THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REQUESTING THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS <br />TO HOLD SEPARATE ELECTIONS IN THE TOWNSHIPS OF <br />CAPE FEAR, DEEP RIVER, EAST SANFORD, GREENWOOD, JONESBORO, <br />POCKET, AND WEST SANFORD <br />ON PROPOSITIONS CONCERNING THE SALE OF MALT BEVERAGES <br />AND UNFORTIFIED WINE <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute § 1813-600(f) states that an election on any of <br />the propositions listed in General Statute § 18B-602(a) (d) and (h) may be called in any township <br />located within a county where the population of all the cities in the county that have previously <br />approved the sale of any kind of alcoholic beverages comprises more than twenty per cent (20%) <br />of the total county population as of the most recent federal census, and <br />WHEREAS, according to the last federal census the population of all cities in Lee County <br />that have previously approved the sale of any kind of alcoholic beverage comprises fifty percent <br />(50%) of the total county population, and <br />WHEREAS, the townships of Cape Fear, Deep River, East Sanford, Greenwood, <br />Jonesboro, Pocket, and West Sanford in Lee County are therefore eligible under the provisions of <br />General Statute § 1813-600(f) to hold township elections concerning the sale of malt beverages <br />and unfortified wines. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners that <br />the Lee County Board of Elections is hereby requested, no sooner than sixty (60) days nor later <br />than one hundred twenty (120) days from the date said Board of Elections receives this written <br />request to conduct separate elections in the townships of Cape Fear, Deep River, East Sanford, <br />Greenwood, Jonesboro, Pocket, and West Sanford on the following propositions: <br />A. As to the sale of malt beverages: <br />(1) To permit the "on-premises" and 'off-premises' sale of malt beverages. <br />❑ FOR <br />❑ AGAINST <br />(2) To permit the "on-premises" sale only of malt beverages. <br />❑ FOR <br />❑ AGAINST <br />
