0 BOOK 21 P4GE 800 <br />LEE C"bUNTY <br />v * . <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />RESOLUTION IN MEMORY OF <br />MRS ANNIE LAURIE POMERANZ <br />WHEREAS, Lee County experienced the loss of a distinguished citizen in the death of <br />Mrs. Annie Laurie Pomeranz; and <br />WHEREAS, as a philanthropist and activist who cared deeply about Sanford and Lee <br />County, we honor her today; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Pomeranz was born in Fair Bluff, but grew up in Lee County where she <br />graduated from Sanford High School; and <br />WHEREAS, after graduation she attended Meredith College and later joined the <br />American Red Cross and served oversees during World War II; and <br />WHEREAS, she married Mr. Robert Pomeranz and they parented six children; and <br />WHEREAS, she was always actively involved in the Girl Scout Program, and was a lover <br />of music, a talented musician, and a founding member of the Lee County Chapter of the <br />North Carolina Symphony; and <br />WHEREAS, she worked tirelessly to save her old High School building from demolition; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, she was a deeply caring person about her family and her community and it is <br />impossible to mention her many contributions. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County <br />that it honors the memory of Mrs. Annie Laurie Pomeranz as an informed and productive <br />citizen whose contributions made Lee County better and it extends its deepest sympathy <br />to her family. <br />Dnsor Robert H.
