Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />Abstain: Smith <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The second and final required public hearing for the above matters will be held at the <br />September Commissioners meeting <br />Mr. Chuck Dumas, District Engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation <br />presented the 2007 Secondary Road Construction Program. Mr. Dumas stated that Cotton Road <br />(SR # 1403) Is scheduled for repairs in the upcoming year, using funds from the Secondary <br />Improvement Program Highway Funds. The following roads are scheduled for repairs in the <br />upcoming year, using Highway Trust Fund monies: <br />• Big Springs Road (SR # 1311) $ 60,000 <br />• Fraley Road (SR # 1308) $ 75,000 <br />• Landfill Road (SR # 1238) $195,000 <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to approve a Resolution Authorizing Funding <br />for the 2007 Secondary Road Construction Program, a copy of which is attached to these minutes <br />and by this reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from the Sheriff's Office to purchase a 2008 Ford <br />Expedition 4x4 XLT. Chief Deputy Randall Butler presented the following bids to the Board for <br />consideration: <br />Tom Smith Ford, Lillington <br />Capital Ford, Raleigh <br />Sanford Ford, Sanford <br />$29,843.88 <br />$28,091.88 (State contract) <br />No Bid <br />After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved to accept the low bid from Capital Ford in <br />the amount of $28,091.88 for the purchase of a 2008 Ford Expedition 4x4 XLT to be used by the <br />Crime Scene Investigator.
