0 0 <br />BOOK 21 PAGE 614 <br />Upon returning from closed session, with all members present, the meeting <br />resumed in the Commissioners' Room. By motion made and duly adopted a public <br />hearing will be held at 4:00 p.m., Monday, July 9, 2007, to consider the cost of economic <br />development projects with the Lee County Economic Development Corporation for the <br />Caterpillar manufacturing plant and Frontier Spinning, LLC manufacturing plant. Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Smith <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Brown recessed the meeting until 7:00 p.m. <br />The meeting resumed at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom # 4 at the old Lee County <br />Courthouse. Commissioners present were Robert H. Brown, James C. Kelly, Jerry M. <br />Lemmond, Linda A. Shook, and Kirk D. Smith. Commissioners Nathan E. Paschal and <br />Robert T. Reives were absent. <br />Chairman Brown opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this <br />date and time to hear comments concerning the proposed tax rates for each volunteer <br />fire department. Interim Manager Lisa Minter presented the Fire Advisory Boards' <br />recommended rate for each fire district. <br />No one present spoke in favor of or in opposition to the fire department tax rates <br />as presented. <br />Chairman Brown closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to approve the FY 2007-08 Fire District Budget <br />Ordinance, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this reference made a <br />part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Shook, and Smith <br />Nay: N/A <br />Absent: Paschal and Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Brown opened the second public hearing that had been advertised <br />with the Lee County Planning Board to hear a rezoning petition submitted by Mr. James <br />H. Bost, Jr., to rezone approximately 8.84 acres of land off Boone Trail Road from <br />Residential Restricted (RR) district to Light Industrial (LI) district. The property in <br />question is the rear portion of two parcels located at 2209 Boone Trail Road. <br />Planner Althea Thompson outlined the rezoning request. <br />Mr. James H. Bost of 921 Cool Springs Road, Sanford, spoke in favor of the <br />rezoning petition. <br />6 <br />
