B K 00025 PG: 0415 <br />• Resolutions honoring recent Lee County retirees (copies attached), and <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for February 2013 (copy attached). <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Frazier <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A -52.1, Chairman Parks opened the <br />floor for Public Comments. The following signed up to speak and were allowed 3 minutes for <br />comments: <br />1. Mark Coggins, 3909 Hunt Springs Drive, Sanford (Second Amendment and Gun <br />Control) <br />2. Brian McRae, 1800 Crepe Myrtle Drive, Sanford (Economic Development) <br />The Board considered appointments to the newly formed Environmental Review & <br />Advisory Committee. In December 2012 the Board voted to dissolve the current Lee County <br />Environmental Affairs Board and replace it with the Lee County Environmental Review & <br />Advisory Committee. It was agreed at that time that the Committee would be made up of 9 <br />individuals from a select field of expertise. Clerk to the Board Gaynell Lee presented twelve <br />applications that had been received for appointment to the Committee. Commissioner <br />Womack moved to amend the composition of the Environmental Review & Advisory <br />Committee to eleven members instead of the 9 originally recommended. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Frazier <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Dalrymple stated she was in favor of a twelve member Committee but <br />wanted representation from the agricultural area. Commissioner Womack stated that <br />someone from the Cooperative Extension Office and Health Department would be asked to <br />serve on the Committee. The representative from Cooperative Extension would fill the <br />agricultural position requested by Commissioner Dalrymple. <br />Commissioner Reives moved that an alternate be appointed to serve on said <br />Committee.
