It was agreed that whatever agency is responsible for capital needs for a department, if <br />that department is closed down, whoever paid for the capital needs will receive the money <br />from the capital purchase. <br />Charges for tax collections were discussed. County Manager John Crumpton stated the <br />County is still trying to get exact costs for this service to the City. <br />The Committee discussed funding for Economic Development. The City wants to know <br />what they are buying since they don't know what the new structure will be. Mr. Crumpton <br />stated the County would continue to fund EDC this year the same as in the past until <br />something is resolved on the re- structure. The Committee agreed that funding from private <br />businesses was needed for funding of EDC. <br />Attorneys from the City and County will now work to finalize the local agreements based <br />on discussions from the inter -local meetings. <br />It was noted the County and City are still working on a consolidated building for <br />Planning, Inspections, Community Development, and GIS. <br />It was agreed that the Committee would meet quarterly to continue discussion on inter - <br />local agreements, along with Planning issues and other items of interest. The first quarterly <br />meeting will be held Monday, June 10, 2013, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gordon Wicker <br />Conference Room at the Lee County Government Center. <br />With no other business to come before the Committee, the meeting adjourned at 2:10 <br />p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />Gaynell M.
