BOOK 21 PirGt X09 <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT <br />COUNTY OF LEE <br />n~. <br />This Agreement made this day of April, 2007, by and between the County <br />of Lee, one of the counties of the State of North Carolina, and a body both politic and <br />corporate, (hereinafter referred to as "County"), and Lisa G. Minter, who is presently the <br />County's Finance Director (hereinafter referred to as "Employee"); <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, the County has elected to operate under the County Manager Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, the position of County Manager is vacant due to the resignation of Mr. <br />David Smitherman on March 15, 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners (Board) decided to appoint Employee as <br />Interim County Manager and confer upon her, in addition to her duties as Finance <br />Director, the duties of County Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, Employee has accepted the appointment and the assumption of the <br />additional duties; and <br />WHEREAS, both parties desire a written agreement of such employment. <br />Now, therefore, the parties hereto for and in consideration of the sum of one <br />dollar and other good and valuable considerations to each in hand paid by the other, <br />including the exchange of covenants and agreements hereinafter made, the receipt and <br />sufficiency whereof is hereby acknowledged, have mutually agreed as follows: <br />1. EMPLOYMENT. County hereby employs employee as Interim County Manager <br />effective as of March 15, 2007 in keeping with her appointment by the Board on <br />that date. <br />
