B00 21 PAGE 5O Y S <br />LEE BOUNTY <br />aono© ooooa0© <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />PROCLAMATION <br />SPRING 2007 "LITTER SWEEP" <br />ROADSIDE CLEANUP <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation annually organizes <br />a Spring State roadside litter cleanup to ensure clean and beautiful roads in North <br />Carolina, and <br />WHEREAS, the Spring 2007 "Litter Sweep" roadside cleanup has been designed <br />for April 14-28, 2007, and encourages local government leaders, civic and professional <br />groups, churches, schools, families, businesses, and individual citizens to participate by <br />organizing cleanups in their communities. and <br />WHEREAS, the "Litter Sweep" cleanup will educate and encourage all <br />individuals in Lee County as to the importance of a clean environment and the quality of <br />life in Lee County, and <br />WHEREAS, a clean environment are sources of great pride for all Lee County <br />residents, attracting tourists and adding in recruiting new industries, and <br />WHEREAS, the cleanup will raise awareness of the need for cleaner roadsides, <br />emphasize the importance of not littering and encourage recycling of solid wastes, and <br />WHEREAS, the 2007 Spring cleanup will celebrate the 1g1h anniversary of the <br />North Carolina Adopt-A-Highway program and the thousands of volunteers who <br />contribute their time and labor year round to keep our roadsides clean. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, We the Lee County Board of Commissioners, do hereby <br />proclaim April 14-28, 2007, as "LITTER SWEEP' time in Lee County, and urge all <br />citizens to participate in making our roadsides clean and encourage the recycling of solid <br />wastes. <br />Adopted this 2nd day of April 2007. <br />`Robert H.
