BRITT <br /> REGISTER OF DEEDS <br /> FILED Aug .26, 2024 <br /> AT 09:12:12 am <br /> BOOK 00004 <br /> START PAGE 0049 <br /> END PAGE 0051 <br /> INSTRUMENT # 05344 <br /> EXCISE TAX (None) <br /> �• NOW <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PROPERTY <br /> LOCATED AT 331 HARBOR TRACE <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns certain vacant property located at 331 Harbor <br /> Trace, PIN number 9660-91-9608-00, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded <br /> in Deed Book 1335, Page 832, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which <br /> the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $7,000.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of a <br /> foreclosure sale; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is $5,394.14; and, <br /> WHEREAS. North Carolina General Statutes §153A-176 and §160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property: and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs, and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Countv received an offer submitted by Cheryl Crist ("Offeror") to <br /> purchase the property described above in the amount of S4,000.00. plus any advertising costs, a <br /> copy of which is attached hereto: and, <br /> WHEREAS. Offeror has paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5°"o) deposit on <br /> its offer and S200.00 of advertising costs; and. <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepts the initial offer of <br /> S4,000.00, and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes staff to advertise the <br /> initial offer and any higher, upsetting offer, subject to the upset bid procedure. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br /> as follows: <br /> 1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes the sale of the property described <br /> above through the upset bid procedure of North Carolina General Statute §160A-269. <br />
