I have enjoyed the many challenges presented through working with a Board that requires dynamic leadership and progressive thought to attain the goals of the organization and community at-large. The Board of Commissioners' vision of a highly responsive local government will serve the community well as it prepares for a better tomorrow in Lee County. Without the commitment, hard work and earnest desire of the County's employees to serve the public, the Board's vision would not be attainable. The highly competent staff has responded to the many challenges presented in an effort to become a model for professional local government. While not always the easiest route, the Lee County staff embraced new concepts and methods of service delivery. The employees receive my highest praise for their dedication to providing high-quality public service. In accordance with employment agreement Section 3D, this resignation shall take effect 90 days from submission, April 24, 2007. However, with the Board's consent, it is desired that the last active working day be March 31, 2007 and the remaining contractual days be allowed as vacation. 1 have complete confidence that Lee County will continue down the road of reinvention and will become an organization of envy and a community of great prosperity. It has been my pleasure to have played a small role in the furtherance of these goals.
