Upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Stevens <br />Nay None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Brown asked approval of the Board to appoint a committee to <br />begin the hiring process for a new County Manager. Commissioner Reives <br />moved approval of Chairman Brown's request to appoint said committee. All <br />Commissioners asked that they be allowed to offer suggestions and feedback <br />before an individual is hired. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Brown appointed Commissioner James Kelly, Commissioner <br />Amy Stevens and himself to serve as the committee to begin the hiring process <br />for a new Lee County Manager. Commissioner Paschal moved to approve the <br />above-referenced committee appointed by Chairman Brown. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to go into closed session, per North <br />Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(3) to consult with the County Attorney to <br />protect the attorney-client privilege. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, Shook, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the <br />Board was in closed session. Upon completing business in closed session, <br />Commissioner Paschal moved to go out of closed session.
