PIN number 9569-64-1198-00, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded <br /> in Deed Book 1390, Page 937, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which <br /> the record thereof reference is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the taxable value of the property is $23,800.00; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the above-referenced property was conveyed to the County as the result of a <br /> foreclosure sale; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the amount of fees and taxes owed on the property as the result of such sale <br /> is S9,301.83; and, <br /> WHEREAS,North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-269 permit the <br /> County to sell property by upset bid, after receipt of an offer to purchase the property; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee proposes to dispose of the above described property as it <br /> is surplus to the County's needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County received an offer submitted by Jamie Campbell on December <br /> 11, 2023 ("Offeror") to purchase the property described above in the amount of S9,301.83, plus <br /> any advertising costs and an offer by War Hung Ng on December 12, 2023 to purchase the <br /> Property in the amount of$10,000.00 plus any advertising costs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Offerors both paid to the County Clerk the required 5 percent (5%)deposit <br /> on its offer and $200.00 to defray advertising and administrative services; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners accepted the initial offer of <br /> $10,000.00 from Wai Hung Ng on January 8, 2024 and authorized staff to advertise the initial <br /> offer; and, <br /> WHEREAS, on January 13, 2024 the initial offer was advertised in The Sanford Herald, <br /> starting the 10-day upset sealed bid period; and, <br /> WHEREAS, Jamie Campbell submitted a qualifying upset bid in the amount of <br /> $11,000.00 on January 16, 2024, and the clerk advertised the first upset bid in The Sanford <br /> Herald on February 3, 2024; and, <br /> 1 <br />
