a 0 <br />BOOK 22 PAGE X10 <br />County Manager John Crumpton discussed a revised time-line for renovations to San Lee <br />Dam and stated the project has been delayed. <br />Mr. Crumpton stated he has received several offers to purchase vacant county property. <br />Currently the County uses the upset bid process when an offer is made to purchase property. <br />Mr. Crumpton further stated he would have a list of items for the Board to declare surplus <br />at the December 1, 2008 meeting so an auction could be scheduled in the near future. <br />Mr. Crumpton also discussed the December 1, 2008 swearing-in and dedication ceremony <br />for newly elected Commissioners and members leaving the Board. The ceremony will begin at <br />8:30 a.m. in Courtroom #4 at the old Lee County Courthouse, a reception will follow in the <br />Magistrate's Courtroom on the first floor of the new courthouse, and the regular meeting of the <br />Board of Commissioners will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Government Center. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to go into closed session per N.C. Gen Stat 143-318.11(a) <br />(6) to discuss a personnel matter. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Quiggle, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and the Board was in <br />closed session. After completing business in closed session, Commissioner Quiggle moved to <br />go out of closed session. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Lemmond, Kelly, Paschal, Quiggle, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Upon returning to open session, Chairman Brown called the meeting back to order. <br />Commissioner Lemmond moved to give Tax Administrator Dwane Brinson a 5% pay <br />increase. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Brown, Kelly, Lemmond, Paschal, Quiggle, Reives, and Shook <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously <br />At 4:20 p.m. Chairman Brown recessed the meeting till 7:00 p.m. <br />The meeting resumed at 7:00 p.m. in Courtroom #4 at the old Lee County Courthouse, <br />1408 S. Horner Blvd., Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were Robert H. Brown, <br />Jerry M. Lemmond, John T. Quiggle, and Robert T. Reives. Commissioners absent were <br />James C. Kelly, Nathan E. Paschal, and Linda A. Shook. <br />Chairman Brown called the joint meeting to order with the Lee County Planning Board that <br />had been advertised for this date and time. <br />3 <br />
