9 r' PH <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that the Chairman be authorized to <br />execute the lease for and on behalf of the County. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, it was RESOLVED to authorize granting a <br />permit to Heins Telephone Company, to place buried telephone facilities at the <br />Council on Aging building. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker requested that the column in <br />the middle of the Council on Aging building be removed. The Chairman stated he <br />would secure estimates for consideration by the Board. The Chairman announced <br />to the Board he had received a letter from Mr. Walter Scoggins, County Electrical <br />Inspector, resigning his position, effective as of June 30, 1980. <br />The Board again considered the Statement of Valuations of County <br />Property to be used in its insurance program. Commissioner Rhyne moved that the <br />Statement of Valuations presented be approved and that the Chairman be authorized <br />to certify such values to the appropriate agencies. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the following resolution <br />be adopted: <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF CERTAIN <br />REAL PROPERTY AT PUBLIC AUCTION <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Lee <br />County, desires to dispose of certain surplus property <br />of the County: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF LEE COUNTY, THAT: <br />1. The following described property is hereby <br />declared to be surplus to the needs of the County: <br />FIRST TRACT: BEGINNING at an iron pipe stake, a <br />corner of the C. A. Roberts and Maggie B. Clark lands; <br />running thence with the line of M. Williams, N. 5 deg. <br />48 min. E. 151. 8 feet to an iron pipe, corner in the <br />margin of the old Plank Road; thence with the margin of <br />said road, N. 33 deg. 17 min. E. 294. 6 feet crossing the <br />power line of Carolina Power & Light Company to an iron <br />pipe corner; thence S. 55 deg. 43 min. E. 400 feet to an <br />iron pipe corner; thence S. 33 deg. 03 min. W. 438. 2 feet <br />to an iron stake corner in the line of C. A. Roberts; thence <br />with that line, N. 55 deg. 12 min. W. 331. 7 feet to the <br />BEGINNING, containing 3. 89 acres, and being according to <br />a survey made by J. Chandler Eakes, Registered Surveyor, <br />November 1, 1948, and plotted on a map entitled "Map for <br />New Hope School Property, Lee County, N. C. , West Pocket <br />Township", made by the said J.
