e0% 9 ytq~f 792 <br />Commissioner Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, <br />Commisioners Funderburke, Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no <br />one voted against it. <br />The Board next considered the bids received in response to its <br />invitation to bid on maintenance of office equipment . The bids received were as <br />follows : <br />Sanford Business Machines, Inc. $ 3, 416. 82 <br />Mac's Business Machines, Inc. $3,342..87 <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved that the County accept the <br />low bid from Mac's Business Machines„ Inc. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. T. F. Nance appeared before the Board and presented a petition <br />containing 41 names of people living in the Deep River Community, asking the County <br />to assist in the extension of public water to their community. <br />The Board, next upon motion duly made, seconded and adopted, went <br />into Executive Session, to discuss personnel matters with the Sheriff. Following the <br />Executive Session, the Board resumed its public meeting and discussed applications for <br />the position of building inspector. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was <br />seconded by Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne and unanimously adopted, upon a vote, it <br />was RESOLVED to authorize the Chairman to sign a Cooperative Agreement with Law <br />Enforcement Agencies and the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, to <br />implement the child support enforcement provisions of Title IV-D of the Social Security <br />Act. <br />The request of Mr. S. F. Westbrook, the Tax Supervisor, for <br />authority to change the valuation of Katerine Sutton Watson's property located at <br />2016 Lee Avenue, from $45, 356. 00 to $39, 836. 00, was presented to the Board. The <br />improvements on this property were graded incorrectly and the change was necessary <br />in order to equalize it with comparable properties in the neighborhood. The authority <br />to make such change was given upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, seconded <br />by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The request of Mrs. Margaret Seagraves for a refund of $37. 31 to <br />Sally Ann Seagraves for taxes paid on an automobile which was double listed was pre- <br />sented to the Board. Upon motion of Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, which motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, it was unanimously RESOLVED to <br />authorize the refund of $37. 31 to Sally Ann Seagraves. <br />The request of Donald H. Foster for a refund in the amount of $13.77 <br />taxes for the years 1977-78-79 for property which was double listed, was presented to <br />the Board. Upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner <br />Clyde J. Rhyne, it was unanimously RESOLVED to authorize the refund of $13. 77 to <br />Donald H. Foster for each of the years 1977-78-79 for double listed property. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, seconded by Commiss- <br />ioner Lila P. Nielsen, it was unanimously RESOLVED to set the travel mileage rate for <br />Lee County employees at 21~ per mile. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Jack D. Funderburke, it was unanimously RESOLVED to authorize the Chairman <br />to execute the Memorandum of Understanding between Lee County and the Agricultural <br />Extension Service. <br />
