9 ipu 733 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA. <br />Monday, July 7, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioner's Room on the second <br />floor of the CountyOffice Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />Monday, July 7, 1980, at 9:30 o'clock a, m. Those present were Commissioners <br />Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne, and Gordon A. <br />Wicker. None of the Commissioners were absent. The Chairman declared a quorum <br />present and the meeting open for business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The Reverend Ben Rouse, Pastor of the Jonesboro United Methodist <br />Church, opened the meeting with prayer. <br />The minutes of the meeting held on June 16, 1980, were considered <br />and amended to reverse the name of a movant and seconder and as amended, the minutes <br />were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, <br />seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted upon <br />a vote. <br />The minutes of the meeting held on June 23, 1980, were approved and <br />ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Jack D. Funderburke, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The minutes of the meeting held on June 30, 1980, were approved and <br />ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Jack D. Funderburke, which motion was unanimously adopted, upon a vote. <br />The minutes of the meeting held July 2, 1980, were approved and <br />ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, seconded by Commiss- <br />ioner Jack D. Funderburke, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. <br />The petiton of the Tramway Fire Department for imp%ovementof the <br />entryway of their firestation was presented to the Board. Commissioner Clyde J. <br />Rhyne moved that the petition be approved and the Department of Transportation be <br />requested to make such improvements. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the <br />motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne reported that the right of way department <br />of the Highway Division of the Department of Transportation had been unable to secure the <br />necessary rights of way to add Coggins Road in Carriage Hills Estates to the State <br />Maintenance System. <br />
