® 9a0K 9 PArn 746 <br />repaid upon receipt of funds from the FAA and the Airport Commission requested <br />approval of such procedure. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the request be <br />approved. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Buchanan also reported on the work being done to obtain a <br />grant to assist the County to complete the project in extending water lines to the <br />Industrial Park and the William H. Rorer, Inc. industrial site. Commissioner <br />Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the application applying for 304 funds be approved and <br />the Chairman be authorized to execute all documents necessary to complete said <br />application including the Certificate of ComplianceLwith the Clean Air Act and Federal <br />Water Pollution Control Act and Agreement for Professional Services with Williams <br />& Works. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was <br />unanimously adopted. <br />The Chairman brought up for discussion, the City's requirement <br />for a Water Study. The Chairman then appointed himself and Mr. Rhyne to serve <br />as a committee to negotiate with the Law and Finance Committee of the Board of <br />Aldermen of the City of Sanford concerning the water line extension policy and the <br />Water Study requirement of the City. <br />The Chairman announced that Mr. Paul Aderhold has agreed to accept <br />the Board's appointment as Building Inspector to begin work on August 1, 1980. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that Mr. Aderhold be appointed as the Electrical <br />and Building Inspector effective as of August 1, 1980. Commissioner Jack D. <br />Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The report of the auction sale of the New Hope School property <br />was brought to the attention of the Board. The high bidders were Mr. Curtis Roberts <br />and Mr. Sion Roberts, for the price of $25, 050. 00. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne <br />moved that the bid of Curtis Roberts and Sion Roberts for the purchase of the New <br />Hope School property at $25, 050. 00, be approved and accepted, and the Chairman <br />and Clerk be authorized and directed to execute a deed for and on behalf of the County, <br />upon receipt of the payment of the purchase price. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen moved that the following resolution <br />be adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the Local Government Commission of <br />North Carolina has informed the Board of Commissioners that <br />it has sold in the manner prescribed by law, the $7, 700, 000 <br />School Bonds, of the County of Lee, dated June 1, 1980, and <br />that the contract of sale contemplates that the bonds shall <br />bear interest as hereinafter provided; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of <br />the County of, Lee, as follows: <br />The bonds hereinbefore described shall bear <br />interest as follows: bonds payable in each of <br />the years 1981 to 1995, inclusive, 6. 70% per <br />annum; and bonds payable in each of the years <br />1996 to 2000, inclusive, 6. 75% per annum. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and the <br />motion was adopted. Those voting for the resolution were Commissioners Funder- <br />burke, Harmon, Nielsen, Rhyne and Wicker. No one voted against it. <br />
