® BddK 8 PACE 744 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, July 21, 1980 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, July 21st, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne, and Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners were absent. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for business. transacted: Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was Reverend Garland Bennett, Pastor of Shallow Well Christian Church opened the meeting with prayer. Minutes of the regular meeting held on July 7, 1980, were considered and corrected and as corrected, upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, the minutes were approved and ordered recorded. The letter of Mr. Fred H. Beck, Sr. , District Engineer, concerning a request to add Stoneybrook Drive and Foggy Mountain Loop to the State System, was presented to the Board. Upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, the following resolution was adopted: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road system; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum stand- ards and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the addition of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the State Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The letter of Mr. Robert S. Jasany, President of Owl's Nest Home- owners Association, .together with the petition of the homeowners in Owl's Nest Sub- division, requesting that Simpson Drive, Phillips Drive, Owl's Nest Road, and all adjoining streets in Owl's Nest Subdivision be added to the state system, were presented to the Board. After discussion, Commissioner Rhyne moved the adoption of the following resolution:
