V <br />V <br />_ 906i( ~ P,4Ct 1~h <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, September 15, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />Monday, September 15, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present were Commiss- <br />ioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners were absent. The Chairman declared <br />a quorum present and the meeting open for business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />P. Nielsen. <br />The meeting was opened by a prayer given by Commissioner Lila <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the minutes of the regular <br />meeting held on Tuesday, September 2, 1980, be approved as submitted and ordered <br />recorded. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne reported, as requested, on status of the <br />road on which Mrs. Marie Morris lives. <br />The petition initiated by Mr. B. Newby of Route No. 9, Box 879, <br />Sanford, North Carolina, requesting that Secondary Road No. 1313 in Pocket Township, <br />be paved, was presented to the Board. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved the <br />adoption of the following resolution with respect to said Secondary Road No. 1313: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the <br />County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above des- <br />cribed road which is now a part of the system of roads main- <br />tained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated <br />in red on the attached map; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services <br />rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said county, <br />it is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order <br />to better serve the interests of the people of this county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and the Board of <br />County Commissioners hereby approve and request that the <br />State Highway Commission make the following improvements <br />in the above described road: Paved <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />i <br />
