V V _ 906i( ~ P,4Ct 1~h MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, September 15, 1980 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, September 15, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present were Commiss- ioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne and Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners were absent. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for business. Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was transacted: P. Nielsen. The meeting was opened by a prayer given by Commissioner Lila Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the minutes of the regular meeting held on Tuesday, September 2, 1980, be approved as submitted and ordered recorded. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne reported, as requested, on status of the road on which Mrs. Marie Morris lives. The petition initiated by Mr. B. Newby of Route No. 9, Box 879, Sanford, North Carolina, requesting that Secondary Road No. 1313 in Pocket Township, be paved, was presented to the Board. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to said Secondary Road No. 1313: WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above des- cribed road which is now a part of the system of roads main- tained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated in red on the attached map; and WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said county, it is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order to better serve the interests of the people of this county. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and the Board of County Commissioners hereby approve and request that the State Highway Commission make the following improvements in the above described road: Paved Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. i
