N <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE <br />COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />1 Monday, October 20, 1980 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on <br />the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Monday, October 20, 1980, at7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present for <br />the meeting were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. <br />Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared that a <br />quorum was present and the meeting open for the dispatch of business. <br />transacted: <br />Harmon. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />The meeting was opened by prayer given by Chairman K. S. <br />The Petition requesting addition of Cherokee Trail and Hiawatha <br />Drive to the State System was presented to the Board for its consideration. Comm- <br />issioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect <br />to said streets: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed <br />with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the <br />location of which has been indicated in red on the attached <br />map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the <br />opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the <br />Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for the <br />addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY <br />OF LEE that the Division of Highways is hereby requested <br />to review the above described road, and to take over the road <br />for maintenance if it meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Petition requesting paving of Cape Fear Drive in Riverrun <br />Subdivision off of Secondary Road 1149 was presented to the Board. Commissioner <br />Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to said <br />street: <br />
