BOOK 9 Pr,6E 792 <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen reported that the Committee <br />appointed to study the use of the old hospital building had recommended the employ- <br />ment of Derrell W. Mullins, Architect, to make a study of the building for the <br />County. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote <br />it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Derrell W. Mullins, Architect, appeared before the Board <br />and presented recommendations for renovations at the County Jail and Sheriff's office. <br />There was extended discussion following which Commissioner Jack,D. Funderburke <br />moved that the County undertake to make repairs and renovations to the Sheriff's office <br />and jail building utilizing the governmental work force for work not exceeding $75, 000. 00, <br />the statutory limit, and authorizing the bidding of such work outside the capability of the <br />governmental work force for approval and acceptance by this Board for a total project <br />of $ , and such sum is hereby appropriated from the unappropriated <br />surplus in the General Fund for the accomplishment of said purpose. Commissioner <br />Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke reported on the allocation of <br />office space for the Community Action Program. <br />Chairman Harmon reported on the hazardous waste disposal program. <br />Chairman Harmon reported on his discussion with Chairman Jack <br />Brock of the Board of Commissioners for Harnett County, concerning a possible joint <br />meeting between the two boards and also the representatives to the General Assembly. <br />Upon motion made, seconded, and unanimously adopted, it was <br />resolved to adjourn the meeting until 7:30 o'clock p. m. , on Monday, November 10, <br />1980, to reconvene in the Commissioners Room, second floor, County Office Building, <br />200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina.
