4 - I~• <br />S s <br />aooK 9 ADM <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 10, 1980 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners <br />Room, on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina, at 7:30 o'clock p. m. , on Monday, November 10, 1980, <br />being the place, time and date set in the motion of adjournment. Those present <br />were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Absent were Commissioners Lila P. Nielsen and Clyde J. Rhyne. The Chairman <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the dispatch of business. <br />transacted: <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, and Mr. Allen Choate, of <br />Williams & Works, Inc. , appeared before the Board and presented the bids received <br />for the Community Development Project at San-Lee Heights. Mr. Choate explained <br />that they had requested all bidders to show their bid for water and wastewater facilities <br />under Section A and the bid for street improvements under Section B, however, the <br />award would be made on the basis of the lowest total bid by a responsible contractor. <br />The Chairman instructed that the bids be opened and read. This was done and the six bids <br />received are as shown on the bid tabulation sheet attached hereto and by this reference <br />made a part hereof. After discussion and review, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />moved that the low bid of J. C. Johnson be accepted, subject to approval of the calcu- <br />lations in said bid by the Architect and subject to approval and acceptance by the <br />Housing and Urban Development Department of the U. S. Government. Commissioner <br />Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan reported to the Board on the Triangle Urban <br />Marketing Area Committee. <br />There being no further business to come before the meeting it was <br />adjourned sine die. <br />K. S.
