BOOK 9 PACE
Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the Chairman and the Clerk be authorized
to execute said budget amendment no. 10. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded
the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Funderburke, Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker
and Harmon voted for it and no one voted against it. Mrs. Lucille Colebrook
presented a breakdown of the school appropriations for consideration and approval
by the Board. At the request of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, consideration of
this matter was deferred.
Mr. Elwin J. Buchanan, Grants Director, appeared before the Board
and brought to the attention of the Board that one of the contractors on a project near
Lyons Bottom replaced a water line which Mr. Loyd Lyons had already installed in
one area of Lyons Bottom. The replacement pipe was not of the same size and strength
and had proved unsatisfactory. It had cost Mr. Lyons $420. 00 to put his property back
into the same condition and he was requesting the County to re-imburse him for this
expense. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the sum of-$420. 00 be
appropriated from the unappropriated surplus; in the General Fund to the Line Item for
Administration of Grants within the Grants Administration Fund for the purpose of
making a re-payment to Mr. Lyons for replacement of the pipe. Commissioner Jack
D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted.
The budget for the Lee County Industrial Park and William H.
