UOK mu 79 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE <br />COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 17, 1980 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on <br />Monday, November 17, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present for the meeting <br />were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde <br />J. Rhyne and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared that a quorum was present <br />and the meeting open for the dispatch of business. <br />Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The Clerk opened the meeting with a prayer. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that a typographical error in the <br />minutes of the regular meeting held on November 3, 1980, be corrected and as corrected <br />approved and ordered recorded and that the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting <br />held on November 10, 1980, be approved and ordered recorded. Commissioner Jack <br />D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote the motion was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Loop Road near <br />Cumnock known as Secondary Road No. 1450, be approved for paving, as follows: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of <br />the County of Lee, has investigated the condition of the above- <br />described road which is now a part of the system of roads <br />maintained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated <br />in red on the attached map; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services <br />rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said county, <br />it is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order <br />to better serve the interests of the people of this county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and the Board <br />of County Commissioners hereby approve and request that the <br />State Highway Commission make the following improvements in <br />the above described road: <br />Paved. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mrs. Lucille Colebrook, Finance Officer for the Lee County School <br />Administrative Unit, appeared before the Board and presented budget amendment no. <br />10 pertaining to the capital outlay fund. The Board of Education was requesting that <br />$8, 000. 00 be transferred from the current expense fund to the capital outlay fund <br />to use as matching funds with $4, 000. 00 received from the senior class at Lee Senior <br />High to use for instructional equipment, namely: the purchase of four micro-computers. <br />
