UOK mu 79 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, November 17, 1980 The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, November 17, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock p. m. Those present for the meeting were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared that a quorum was present and the meeting open for the dispatch of business. Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was transacted: The Clerk opened the meeting with a prayer. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that a typographical error in the minutes of the regular meeting held on November 3, 1980, be corrected and as corrected approved and ordered recorded and that the minutes of the adjourned regular meeting held on November 10, 1980, be approved and ordered recorded. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote the motion was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Loop Road near Cumnock known as Secondary Road No. 1450, be approved for paving, as follows: WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, has investigated the condition of the above- described road which is now a part of the system of roads maintained by the State Highway Commission, and which is indicated in red on the attached map; and WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said county, it is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order to better serve the interests of the people of this county. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED and the Board of County Commissioners hereby approve and request that the State Highway Commission make the following improvements in the above described road: Paved. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Mrs. Lucille Colebrook, Finance Officer for the Lee County School Administrative Unit, appeared before the Board and presented budget amendment no. 10 pertaining to the capital outlay fund. The Board of Education was requesting that $8, 000. 00 be transferred from the current expense fund to the capital outlay fund to use as matching funds with $4, 000. 00 received from the senior class at Lee Senior High to use for instructional equipment, namely: the purchase of four micro-computers.
