MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS Y FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, December 15,; 1980 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened on Monday, December 15, 1980, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. in the Commissioner's Room, Second floor, County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were, Commissioners John E. Dotterer, Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, and Gordon A. Wicker. It appearing that Commissioner John E. Dotterer had been elected to a four year term, but had not taken the oath of office, he was duly administered the oath of office by His Honor, William A. Christian, Judge of the District Court Division, General Court of Justice, Eleventh Judicial District. A copy of the oath is attached hereto. Chairman Harmon noted the presence of a quorum and declared the meeting open for the dispatch of business. Chairman K. S. Harmon presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by The Reverend Dennis Sheppard, pastor of the Lemon Springs United Methodist Church. The minutes of the regular meeting held on December 1 and the adjourned regular meeting held on December 4, 1980, were approved and ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote. It was resolved to request the Highway Division, Department of Transportation to take such steps as are necessary to have warning signs placed on Brookwood Trail in Westlake Valley Subdivision advising drivers to use caution because children are playing in the area upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, which motion was unanimously adopted upon a vote.
