® LOOK 9 <br />and was reported for the Board's information. <br />The request of the Department of Social Services for permission <br />to destroy records was approved, upon motion of Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen, <br />duly seconded by Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke, and which motion was unan- <br />imously adopted upon a vote. The Department was authorized to destroy records <br />prior to 1977, upon securing the approval of the Lee County Board of Social <br />Services, approvaP_by the Department of Archives, and upon the condition that they <br />retain any records which pertained to paternity, active cases or any matter involved <br />in litigation. <br />Mr. Don Gunderson, Director of Social Services, appeared before <br />the Board and reported on fuel fund activities and personnel matters. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Grants Administrator, appeared before the <br />Board and reviewed his report on various projects supervised by his office. Mr. <br />Buchanan called upon Mr. Marciano of Williams & Works, to review the application <br />for a Step 1 Amendment of the 201 Wastewater Study Plan. The matter was discussed <br />and reviewed after which Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Clean Water Bond Act <br />and PL 92-500 has authorized the making of grants to aid <br />eligible units of government in financing the cost of 201 <br />Facility Planning Studies. <br />WHEREAS, The County of Lee has need for and intends <br />to perform a 201 Planning Facility Plan. <br />WHEREAS, The County of Lee intends to request State <br />and Federal grant assistance for the project. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE BOARD <br />OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF LEE: <br />That the County of Lee will arrange financing for all <br />remaining costs of the project, if approved for a State and <br />Federal grant award. <br />That K. S. Harmon, Chairman, and successors so titled, <br />is hereby authorized to execute and file an application on behalf <br />of The County of Lee with the State of North Carolina and the <br />Environmental Protection A gency for a grant to aid in the study <br />described above. <br />
