BOOK 9 ,:tirr 88$ <br />The Board next reviewed the application for a highway safety project <br />grant for funds to purchase an ambulance. Commissioner Jack D. Funderburke moved <br />that the resolution entitled "Local Government Resolution", a copy of which is attached <br />hereto and by this reference made a part hereof, be adopted. Commissioner Lila P. <br />Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board endorse and <br />approve the proposed regulations giverning construction and abandonment of wells in <br />Caswell, Chatham, Lee and Person Counties and urge their adoption by the District <br />Health Board. Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />The County Manager reported that he had met with Mrs. Jack <br />McNeill about the transportation system report. At this time it appears that the <br />group is experiencing difficulty in putting together a program which will satisfy the <br />proposed participants. <br />The County Manager reported that Reverend Dave Hill said the group <br />home feasibility study was under way. <br />The County Manager reported on the status of the County's book- <br />keeping machines and the efforts being made to explore the possibility of the schools, <br />the County and CCTC jointly using a computer system. <br />There being no further business to come before the session, it was <br />adjourned sine die. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />CLERK <br />
