Recordine of the Final Pla <br />The subdivider shall file the approved final plat with <br />the Register of Deeds of Le.e County for recording within <br />ninety (90) days after the date of county's approval; other- <br />wise, such approval shall be null and void. <br />Commissioner Lila P. Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. S. F. Westbrooke, Tax Supervisor, appeared before the <br />Board and presented a list of names for relief from taxes due to double listing and <br />clerical errors. He also presented two request for refunds where property had <br />been double listed and both parties had paid the tax. The Board reviewed and <br />discussed these items with the Tax Supervisor following which Commissioner John <br />E. Dotterer moved that the Tax Collector and property owners be granted relief <br />from the taxes as set forth in the monthly relief report for February, 1981, prepared <br />by the Tax Supervisor's office, a copy of which is attached hereto and by this <br />reference made a part hereof and that the County refund to Mrs. J. Talmadge <br />Marks (Belle C. Marks) the sum of $260. 25 ;for 1980 taxes which were double <br />listed and paid by herself and Mr. Martin Marks and that the County refund to <br />Mrs. Frank E. Johnson the sum of $360. 90, for 1980, which were double listed <br />and paid.by herself and James McKay and wife. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />The Tax Supervisor presented to the Board a letter from the City. <br />Manager of Sanford asking relief for the prorata share of taxes outstanding on <br />various properties acquired by the City of Sanford in its Community Development <br />program. Mr.. Westbrooke reported his investigation disclosed there was no way for <br />the County to honor this request for a relief or refund. The Board took no action <br />on the request. <br />The Tax Supervisor requested the Board advise him of the dates <br />during which they wished to meet as the Board of Equalization and Review. The <br />Board specified the period from April 22, 1981, until May 4, 1981. <br />. Representatives of the Youth Commission, appeared before the <br />Board and presented a presentation concerning the establishment of an Emergency <br />Youth Shelter for Lee County. Among those who appeared and spoke in behalf of <br />such a program for Lee County, were Mr. J. David Hill, Director of Youth Services, <br />Mr. Bill Brittian, Director of North Carolina Lutheran Family Services, Judge <br />William A. Christian, Judge K. Edward Greene, Mr. Fletcher Hubbard, of the <br />Probation Department, and Mr. Donn Gunderson, Director of Social Services. <br />The Board thanked the members and those present for their interest in the work <br />and took the matter under advisement. <br />
